BEST Career Advice: Stephanie Vasko, Ph.D.

Stephanie E. Vasko uses qualitative and quantitative methods to to provide clients with tailored solutions. She focuses on collaborative capacity and internal communication within teams, strategic and institutional planning, education, community building, and project and program management .

Dr. Vasko is an American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Community Engagement Fellow for 2017. You can read more information about the AAAS CEF program here:

She is also currently a research associate and the program manager for The Toolbox Dialogue Initiative at Michigan State University, and has written for many national publications, including Slate.com and others (http://www.stephanievasko.com/portfolio/).

She received her B.A. (magna cum laude) in Chemistry from Carleton College (2007) and her Ph.D. in Chemistry & Nanotechnology from the University of Washington (2012). As a recent PhD graduate, she has negotiated many of the challenges faced by BEST trainees, and has a wealth of real-world wisdom and experience she is eager to share with the BEST community.
