My research focuses on the normal mammary gland and breast cancer etiology.  My graduate training was in hormone action in the breast, and I examined progesterone receptor expression, regulation, and signaling during normal development.  I am currently studying the impact of dietary fat content on normal mammary gland and breast tumor development.

I became a scientist to be part of the pursuit to better understand our world and apply that knowledge to improve quality of life.  I love to learn new things and to be part of the knowledge discovery process, whether that is in a laboratory or a classroom.  I enjoy the continually changing nature of science.
