Deparment: Cell and Molecular Biology
Degree Status: Ph.D. StudentAdvisor: Paul Coussens
I am a fourth year PhD candidate in Cell and Molecular Biology at Michigan State University. I’m originally from California and moved to Michigan to earn my doctorate. Although I’m heavily interested in biomedical research, I decided to complete my dissertation research investigating bovine leukemia virus and its effect on the immune health of infected dairy cows. As a scientist, I’m especially interested in infectious disease and immunology, as well as agricultural biotechnology. As a student who is heavily reliant on federal funding for my research, I’m particularly interested to gain a better understanding of scientific policy, both how it is conceived and how it is implemented.
