Each BEST Trainee will complete 2 externships in year 2 and beyond, after Year 1, which is focused on professional and skills development. We encourage each trainee to pursue opportunities across at least two of our MSU BEST Spheres of Success: Academe, Government and Public Affairs, Legal, Regulatory, and Innovation.
We encourage trainees and their advisors to cultivate their network to identify opportunties that suit them, however the MSU BEST team and the Office of Ph.D. Career Services at MSU is also here to support you. Below are some programs or offices which have also actively supported BEST, and serve as potential externship host sites. This list is subject to change.
